Claire Ighodaro was the first woman to lead CIMA (the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) an organisation, which regulates and examines over 160,000 accountants and trainees in the UK and worldwide. She began her career at Otis Elevators in London in 1979. She then joined BT in 1984 as a management and development accountant. As senior project manager at BT between 1988 and 1993, she led the development and implementation of one of the first handheld job-reporting systems for field engineers.
Claire is currently a board member and Non-executive Director of Lloyd’s of London, the Lending Standards Board and the British Council. She is also a Council Member of the Open University. She is Chair of the Lloyd’s Audit Committee, the OU Audit Committee, the LSB Audit Committee and the British Council Audit Committee.
In her spare time, she is active as a mentor in private and public sector programmes. She is indeed a very inspirational Lady.
