Description:

Fire fighters are rescuers who are specially and intensely trained in fire fighting, mainly to extinguish hazardous fires that threaten the public and property. They also provide both emergency support and advice on fire prevention

Facts:

Like a police officer, some fire fighters interest in saving people from fires stems from a vocation/passion or experience (for example in cases where a fire fighter had saved them or a family member from a fire years back, the interest to become a fire fighter develops.)

Entry Requirements
  • One must be at least 18 years old to become a fire-fighter.
  • Have a reasonable level of physical fitness.
  • Pass a series of tests and interview.
