DJs play music for audiences in parties, clubs, theatres, live venues and on our radios. DJs use a wide range of equipments such as mixers, microphones and amplifiers.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Facts:

There are 3 types of DJs

  • Radio DJ
  • Club DJ
  • Mobile DJ

Quite a number of radio DJs also perform live as club DJs.

  • Keen interest in music
  • Outgoing personality
  • Good sense of timing and co-ordination
A Typical Day:

A typical day for a DJ will depend on the type of DJ. As a Radio DJ, a typical day might include

  • Choose the music to be played
  • Interact with the audience through phone-ins, emails and texts
  • Interviews with studio guests

A club DJ or a mobile DJ will play and mix records in clubs, parties or weddings, create buzzing atmosphere and keep people dancing.

Entry Requirements
  • Love for music and knowledge of music with the music world
  • Practical experience is required. Many start out as volunteers for hospitals or student radios or TVs, churches and in local community settings.
